CCTV
CCTV stands for closed-circuit television and is commonly known as video surveillance. “Closed-circuit” means broadcasts are usually transmitted to a limited (closed) number of monitors, CCTV networks are commonly used to detect and deter criminal activities, and record traffic infractions, but they have other uses.
CCTV surveillance can deter potential criminals. When a crime does occur, video footage can help law enforcement to investigate and later provide evidence for prosecution in a law court.
For businesses, CCTV cameras can detect and monitor in-house criminal activities. Security cameras are able to monitor areas that are not easily accessible, or frequently patrolled e.g. rooftops and boundaries
Alarm Systems
A security alarm is a system designed to detect intrusion, such as unauthorized entry, into a building or other areas such as a home or school. Security alarms used in residential, commercial, and industrial, protect against burglary (theft) or property damage, as well as personal protection against intruders.
Some alarm systems serve a single purpose of burglary protection; combination systems provide fire and intrusion protection. Intrusion-alarm systems are combined with closed-circuit television surveillance (CCTV) systems to record intruders’ activities and interface to access control systems for electrically locked doors
There are many types of security systems. Homeowners typically have small, self-contained sirens to raise attention to the property.
Perimeter Fencing
A perimeter fence is designed to enclose a given area and prevent unauthorised access and vandalism.
Perimeter fencing acts as your first point of defence against theft and vandalism. Perimeter fences often indicate a boundary that excludes your property from the rest and is commonly used for security, privacy, and visual appeal. Installing a perimeter fence on your property is one of the best ways of preventing criminals and unwanted visitors.
Most popular types of perimeter fencing include:
• Welded Wire Mesh Fence
• Palisade Fence
• Wire Mesh Fence
• Chain Link Fence
Gate and Garage Automation
Getting out of your vehicle to open a gate or garage can be extremely hazardous from a personal safety perspective. We’ve all heard of people getting hijacked or attacked while opening their gates/garage.
Having a gate/garage motor installed may not eliminate this possibility entirely, but it will certainly reduce the likelihood. Some modern gate motors have adjustable speed settings, meaning that you can have your gate open and close rapidly and thus reduce the time that the gate is open and also the time that you are stationary in your vehicle.
There are also some particularly advanced operators with innovative features such as beam automatic closing, whereby the gate closes the moment that the safety beams have been cleared.
Electric Fencing
Electric fences installed for security usually comprise bare metal wires.
These are kept taut and have supported, insulated posts spaced along the length of the wire.
A box, called an energiser, sends short pulses of electricity around the wire.
The deterrent comes in the form of a human or animal, who has at least one part of their body touching the ground, thereby earthing themselves and preventing large scale injury.
Quite often, just the sight of an electric fence will deter a potential intruder, and it shouldn’t take too much contact with the electric fence to deter anyone planning some unauthorised entry to your property completely.
